Fairuz started his revenue assurance in 2005 when he involved in the project installing Azure's RA solutions in Celcom. He help to capture the client's information, perform analysis and setup the configuration of the system. That's the first exposure he had in revenue assurance, dealing with clients, managed client's demand and captured the first revenue leakages in Celcom.
He's not new to telecommunication because he started his career as software engineer for Telekom Applied Business (TAB) in 2002. He successfully developed the first voice recognition project using SpeechWorks and Dialogic as the platform. He developed the IVR system navigation using voice recognition technology to move around from one menu to another menu. Conventional IVR will ask the caller to press 1 or other number to navigate but this technology from SpeechWorks allowed him configure and customize the voice recognition for the IVR system in TAB.
Back in 2006, when he joined DiGi, he moved from the vendor environment into operator environment. He found that there are a lot of procedures practices by operator. However, he managed to adapt himself into the environment and the first standard he approaches was the Project Management Office (PMO) and Telenor Revenue Assurance Program (TRAP). TRAP is a standard guideline and practice from Telenor headquarters in Oslo and most of the affiliates in Telenor used this program in their revenue assurance department. The most significant value is TRAP was developed to align with TMFORUM RA program and worldwide RA best practices.
Fairuz has significantly contributed in proactive RA to the company through risk assessment and test call using SIGOS system. He managed to pre-empt the technology team on business risk incurred and to product team on network risk. Knowing that product team only knows about business, but they are lack of network knowledge. There is where Fairuz contribute and bridging the gap as RA sees things from end to end. Some of the significant example is from the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) project, new prepaid system and currently 3G and new postpaid system that are expected to take place from 2009 till 2010.
Fairuz was a speaker for few international conferences in Lisbon , Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. He made significant contribution to the RA community by brilliant ideas and thought.
He is now working with Subex as Operation Manager in Malaysia.
